2008 will soon be here!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! The Rogers' family did and was able to spend time with our families. We spent Christmas Eve with the Rogers' families (Dumplin' and Mema/Grandaddy). Christmas morning we enjoyed breakfast at our house with Mema, Granddaddy and Eric. Christmas afternoon we traveled to Gran and Papa's house to spend a few days. We enjoyed spending time with them as well as Wynita, Lance, Palmer, Daniel and Kim... especially the time with Palmer. He is getting so big. He is now 13 months old.

On Saturday, Doug bought his lifelong dream BIG toy... a BOAT! Here is a picture.

And a final note...I finally got my grade for my research class. I made an A on the paper (52 pages long) and an A in the class. I am happy to announce I have earned a 4.0 in my Masters journey. Now I just have to complete the portfolio. I am meeting with a few Walden colleagues on Wednesday so we can compile it together. The portfolio has to be turned in by Jan 15th, but we hope to send it off next weekend. I will be glad when I get the official transcript showing my completed degree...and pay increase!

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable New Year's Eve and Happy New Year!!

This Weekend's Happenings

This weekend began with the Annual Cochran Christmas Parade. Britleigh marched with the HS band. They allowed the 7th & 8th graders to march if they wanted to. I am glad Britleigh got the opportunity to experience marching. Next year as an 8th grader, she will be able to march during half-time. She wants to be a Dazzler (dance corp) during high school, so I am glad she can march with her trumpet too. Here she is at the parade and after.

After the parade, we watch some high school football on TV. Sadly, we watched Thomas County Central lose to Ware Co. On a happy note, we had a good time taking pictures in front of the tree. Aren't they CUTE?

On Saturday, we went to visit Santa. Austin asked me all week to call Santa and find out when he would be in Cochran. I called Saturday afternoon and he was going to be downtown that very day....we really lucked out! Santa loved seeing Austin as much as he loved seeing Santa.

Have a GREAT week!

Fun on Saturday

We have a relaxing yet busy day on Saturday. We worked at the house and got a few things done. Doug is taking the porch down. We will be extending the living room and adding closets. We will add a porch back later. We already have been looking at doors for the front and have found several that we like.

The kids and I raked leaves so we could take our annual "leaves" pictures. Doug says I only rake leaves so I can take pictures but it serves a dual purpose. The yard looks better and I have some great pictures. Here are a few pictures from the day.
